Mozilla thunderbird not receiving emails3/17/2023 ![]() ![]() I'm leaving them in place, though, in case I should try to connect to some other less secure server in the future. In my case, a quick request to my server's tech support resulted in them reconfiguring to use 2048 bit SSL keys and I no longer need to have the above changes in TBird. The REAL problem is that the server needs to use stronger SSL keys in their secure connection negotiations. The settings above prevent TBird from telling the server it supports those weaker keys in the first place. Trouble is, again if my understanding is correct, Mozilla only went half way - they no longer support 1024-bit keys, but still tell the server they support even weaker keys, so when the 1024-bit key fails, and the server tries to fall back to a weaker key that TBird says it supports but no longer really does, everything just stops. If my sketchy understanding is correct, starting with version 38.1.0, TBird now requires support for stronger sha SSL keys, 2048 bits minimum, to prevent the server logjam attack problem that affects many servers, both web and email, using TSL/SSL connections. If this doesn't help, you can always change those settings back. ![]() I don't recall if a restart of Thunderbird is necessary. then Advanced | General | Config EditorIf you get the "invalidate the warranty" screen (WHAT warranty?
